This restored finca is one of the oldest houses in Trinidad, built in the second half of the nineteenth century on the edge of Santa Rosa Valley. It is located about ten minutes’ walk from the historic center of town and offers six guest rooms.

Finca Kenia is more of a boutique B&B than a traditional casa and has a large garden and back yard looking out on the ruins of a colonial fort and surrounding mountains, as well as featuring a swimming pool.
Each room is air conditioned and with en-suite facilities and has a seating area outside the front of the room with table, chairs, rocking chairs and sometimes even a hammock, which adds to the natural and rustic feel.
Finca Kenia ticks all the boxes if you are looking for a small intimate place to stay with character and offers an insight into the local way of life of a Cuban family away from the hub of the town center. The finca has stables and horses and can organize excursions to in the nearby hills. A wonderful experience is to ride out to a stunning waterfall nearby and enjoy a picnic lunch on the hoof before returning to Trinidad for a spot of dinner in town or perhaps a salsa lesson!
You’ll wake up admiring the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean from one of the 120 rooms of this hotel: 18 Junior suites, 70 Superior junior suites, 22 Deluxe suites with living area and terrace, eight ultra-luxurious suites, the lush Presidential Suite and another Royal with large terraces and private Jacuzzi, and in the case of the Royal Suite, a large living room as well.

Finca Kenia is located a 10-minute walk from Trinidad's town center. Trinidad was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 in recognition of its fine colonial architecture. The hotel is 13km from the beach; Playa de Ancon.
When to go
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
