Bermuda enjoys a nice year round climate and with its beautiful pink sand beaches, championship golf courses and daily flights from London this makes it the perfect destination for a family vacation or even a long weekend in the sunshine!
Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory located in the Atlantic Ocean, it is made up of 181 islands and islets that form a crescent shape and cover 22 miles, yet the main island is only 2 miles in width so getting around the island to visit all the many place of interest and beautiful beaches is easy.
St George’s, the original capital of the island, has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is well worth a visit with its rich naval history and quaint cobbled streets. In 1815, Hamilton became the island's capital and this is where you will find Government buildings including the parliament, Government House to the north, the former Admiralty House of the Royal Navy to the west and the British Army garrison headquarters at Prospect Camp to its east.
The Royal Naval Dockyard is certainly worth a visit during your time in Bermuda, this was closed back in the late 1950s but has since been renovated and turned into an attraction for visitors to the island as this is where many of the large cruise ships dock. Now former warehouses have been turned into artists shops and a pedestrian mall has opened in the clock tower building. The keep area is now the site of the Bermuda Maritime Museum and the Dolphin Quest attraction. There are also several restaurants to enjoy so a great place to visit for an afternoon.
The real draw for many guests to Bermuda though has to be the amazing pink sand beaches and the fantastic championship golf courses, it really is a great destination for golfers especially in the winter months when it is a little cooler but perfect golfing weather.
