Part of the wider Jumby Bay resort, Lazy Lizard is an exclusive-use villa on the south coast of the resort's private island. Accessible only by boat from mainland Antigua, Lazy Lizard is ideal for those looking for privacy and seclusion, with easy access to the beach, and ample space for a truly special escape with family and friends.
Set within five acres of lush tropical garden, Lazy Lizard is concealed from the rest of the resort, while still providing guests with access to Jumby Bay's many facilities. Sleeping up to 12 guests, the six bedrooms at Lazy Lizard are connected by a winding system of pools and bridges that lead to the central house. Each well-appointed room has its own large living area, while the two master bedrooms offer incredible sea views. The contemporary décor perfectly blends Caribbean architecture with tasteful Asian-inspired furnishings, ensuring rooms feel elegant and sophisticated.
The central house at Lazy Lizard is the real social hub of the villa, where guests can relax in the open-air living room and enjoy meals courtesy of the private chef in the dining room. Lazy Lizard is comprised of six bedrooms spread around the property, each contained in individual pavilions connected by a system of pools and bridges. The two master bedrooms offer fantastic sea views, and all of the well-appointed bedrooms open onto a spacious living area. Decorated with calming whites and bright pops of turquoise, blues and greens, the bedrooms are all light and airy, while in the private gardens, each suite has its own rainshower. Bathrooms are stocked with James Heeley amenities, and each bedroom provides a Nespresso coffee machine.
Guests at Lazy Lizard have access to Jumby Bay's fantastic kids club, the Rose Buds program. Aimed at children aged 3 - 11, there are a wealth of activities on offer, ranging from hanging out in the children's pavilion and kids cooking classes to the hawksbill turtle kids program. Providing the chance to learn about conservation efforts on the island, the hawksbill turtle program allows children to take part in turtle nesting and hatchling release, and they can even adopt a turtle and receive regular updates! For older guests aged 12-17 there is a range of teen activities, including mocktail mixology classes and kayak exploration trips.
Nanny and babysitting services are available on request, as well as amenities such as cribs, monitors and bottle warmers.
The main house at Lazy Lizard contains a sociable dining room and kitchen, as well as an open-air living area. The kitchen is fully-equipped, and there is also a casual floating dining area within the central pool. Meals come courtesy of Lazy Lizard's private chef, who will be sure to create the most exquisite dishes to suit your personal tastes.
Guests at Lazy Lizard also have full access to the facilities at Jumby Bay, including the Verandah, Pool Grille and Beach Shack restaurants, as well as the Beach Bar.
There is a range of activities on offer at Lazy Lizard, with a wide selection at Jumby Bay's water sports center. Complimentary activities include kiteboarding, paddleboarding, kayaking and snorkeling, while there is an additional charge for scuba diving, sailing and golf on mainland Antigua. Lazy Lizard has its own tennis court and fitness center for guest use, as well as over 500 sq. m / 6,000 sq. ft of pool.
Guests have access to Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Jumby Bay, which offers a range of treatments including massage, facials, manicures and classes such as yoga and Pilates. Relaxing in-room therapies are also available.

Lazy Lizard is located on the southern coast of Long Island, part of the Jumby Bay resort. Long Island is a 300-acre private island located two miles off the coast of Antigua, noted for its lush landscape, stately palm trees and three superb, white sand beaches.
When to go
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
