Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Mana Pools has a moderate to sub-tropical climate with three distinct seasons: from November to March is the Emerald, or the rainy season, April to July is Zimbabwe's winter, when the weather is cool and dry, and August to October is summer, when the weather is hot and dry. In terms of game viewing, the dryer months, meaning a higher concentration of game at the permanent water sources, are a superb time to visit. Alternatively come for some superb birdwatching at the end of the rains.

Description

Sapi Springs Camp offers guests the once in a lifetime opportunity of sleeping on an open-aired platform under the African skies and nestled amongst the trees of the Sapi Concessions, a private reserve bordering Mana Pools National Park.

Following the conversion of the Sapi Safari Area into a private photographic reserve in 2016 , the wildlife rich area along with the Famous Mana Pools National Park now combine to form a protected wilderness of 337,600 hectares. This wildlife hotspot is a reliable water source which draws in huge numbers of animals, and 80-85% of the area is only accessible on foot, making this an ideal walking safari destination.

This unique camp is one of two new additions to the Great Plains Conservation collection, a company highly invested in the conservation efforts of Africa, as well as providing luxurious African safaris with stylish camps that compliment their surroundings. To thoroughly enjoy this Mana Pools sojourn, we recommend guests also stay at Great Plains Sapi Explorers Camp, which offers a different perspective of the regions landscape and habitat, as well as different activities.

This intimate camp is tucked away amongst the mahogany and ebony trees of the private Sapi Reserve, nestled on the banks of the Sapi riverbed and overlooking a small natural pool of water which attracts a plethora of different wild residents.

This exclusive camp boasts four platforms with ground level housing and en-suite bathrooms. The top level is a fabulous sleeping platform offering guests the option of sleeping either inside or outside up in the canopy, closer to nature and under the starry African skies.

During your stay at Sapi Springs Camp you will traverse the private reserve on 4x4 game drives following the dry riverbed in search of fantastic photography opportunities You will also explore the region on foot, allowing you to venture into areas not accessible by game vehicles and therefore offering an intimate wildlife experience.
