Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Mana Pools has a moderate to sub-tropical climate with three distinct seasons: from November to March is the Emerald, or the rainy season, April to July is Zimbabwe's winter, when the weather is cool and dry, and August to October is summer, when the weather is hot and dry. In terms of game viewing, the dryer months, meaning a higher concentration of game at the permanent water sources, are a superb time to visit. Alternatively come for some superb birdwatching at the end of the rains.

Sapi River Camp is the third and final camp on the six day Greater Mana Expedition, part of the renowned and luxurious Great Plains Conservation collection.

The final stop on the Greater Mana Expedition, Sapi River Camp is a luxurious tented camp situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Similar to the first camp, Sapi West, this is an intimate mobile camp offering three canvas tents with fantastic views of the river beyond, along with its grunting residents, the hippos. This area is also a popular place for elephants to drink and bathe so sightings can be truly spectacular.

You will spend two nights in your river side base soaking up the panoramic views and exploring the region by foot and by 4x4 vehicle. Depending on water levels, there is also the option to go canoeing or boating on the ancient Zambezi River. Enjoy close encounters to large pods of hippo and large crocodiles or perhaps focus on the incredible birding that can be done along the banks.
