Mana Pools has a moderate to sub-tropical climate with three distinct seasons: from November to March is the Emerald, or the rainy season, April to July is Zimbabwe's winter, when the weather is cool and dry, and August to October is summer, when the weather is hot and dry. In terms of game viewing, the dryer months, meaning a higher concentration of game at the permanent water sources, are a superb time to visit. Alternatively come for some superb birdwatching at the end of the rains. Kanga camp opens from mid April until the end of October.
Part of the Wilderness Safaris collection, the luxury Chikwenya Camp is based in the game rich Mana Pools National Park with ten spacious tents overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and the great Rift Valley escarpment.

This seasonal camp is located in the world renowned Mana Pools National Park, which offers incredible elephant sightings, great numbers of predators, as well as some of the worlds best walking safari opportunities. With a range of habitats ranging from arid to woodland, Mana Pools is a birders dream with around 380 species recorded in the park.
Chikwenya Camp has ten spacious and luxuriously furnished tents overlooking the flood plains and the flowing waters of the mighty Zambezi River. The tents stand on low wooden decks with pine walkways linking them to the main areas which include a lounge, bar area, swimming pool and deck. With families in mind, there is also two family units available.
Activities offered include game drives and walks, boat cruises, night drives, bird watching and fishing on the Zambezi for the world famous tiger fish. All activities are done with excellent experienced guides who are experts on the flora and fauna of the area
Chikwenya is an intimate ten-tented camp, including two family units. Each tent is large and airy with crisp fresh design and boast a private verandah and en suite.
Zimbabwe is one of the best places in Africa to experience walking in the bush. The guides are of the highest quality, the game is fantastic and the different environments, throughout the country, are well suited for exploring on foot.
Chikwenya Camp is based in Mana Pools National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River.
Access is best via light charter. These are primarily via Harare or Victoria Falls.
