This family run hotel has a lovely welcoming charm to it. The beautiful gardens are a perfect place to have long breakfasts under the orange trees or for sitting and relaxing by the pool. The rooms are large and spacious, all equipped in a colonial theme with port and sherry offered on a complimentary basis. Rooms are decorated with earthy African colors combined with the warm wooden features of an old Victorian Manor House. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, minibars and bathrooms, with inviting Victorian stand alone baths.
There is also a spa, beautifully positioned in the garden offering massages and other treatments. River Manor is well equipped for children with rooms next to one and another, babysitting can also be arranged. The fantastic spa at the River Manor offers a range of treatments and therapies using products derived from the natural goodness of grape extract, which has many health benefit - not only for the skin.
The shops and restaurants of Stellenbosch are a short walk away and the River Manor is well located to explore the Western Cape. In particular, the Winelands with its long list of stunning vineyards and some of the best wine tasting in the country. Other activities in the area include mountain biking, fly fishing and golf.
River Manor offers guests 18 Rooms (seven Superior/eight Classic/three Petit). Stellenbosch is the perfect family destination, with a wide range of exciting outdoor activities for all ages and River Manor offers a tailor made program for family trips in the area. Stellenbosch has many children friendly wine estates and restaurants catering for their needs. Attractions kids will love in the Winelands area include Bugz Play Park, the Franschhoek Motor Museum, Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens and the Stellenbosch Toy and Miniature Museum. Although there is no restaurant as such, River Manor offers a selection of light meals and snacks which can be enjoyed in the gardens or by the pool.
At the hotel you can swim in the pool surrounded by the lush garden landscape. Spa treatments are charged additionally. Stellenbosh is within walking distance and you are well positioned to enjoy the delights of the Winelands, with its endless rolling hills of vines, fruit trees and stunning rural landscape.

When to go
The Winelands are a wonderful year-round destination and enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, somewhat like the South of France, which is what makes the area perfect for grape-growing. Summer is the reverse of the Northern hemisphere. The best season visit is September to March when it is hot, sunny and dry. From April to August it cools down with some rain.
