Mhondoro Game Lodge has recently been completely revamped to include a newly built main lodge and separate villa. Located in a non-malarial reserve, this is the perfect spot for a family safari, with exceptional wildlife, family suites, and all of the sought-after Big 5 in abundance. There's even a private villa that sleeps 6 if you're looking for a really exclusive experience.
A particularly special feature of the lodge is it's new underground waterhole hide, accessed via a 60m tunnel leading into the main lodge. This will allow you to get right up close to the wildlife and take some incredible photos from a safe location.
The suites are stylish and thoughtfully designed, each with an ensuite bathroom with bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower, and all with a lovely balcony area overlooking the waterhole. Fireplaces in the rooms keep them warm during the cooler months and there's air conditioning to keep temperatures cool in the summer.
The cuisine is fresh, healthy and delicious, with modern twists on favorite dishes. The lodge has been created with every luxury thought of, such as an amazing new state of the art spa and gym for anyone wanting some relaxing treatments or to work off some steam. Anyone wanting to enjoy a bit of adventure can also take advantage of their new star bed, located away from the lodge, on a safely elevated platform, where you can enjoy a night under the stars listening to the sounds of the bush around you.
Mhondoro boasts 3 Deluxe Suites that sleep 2 people each, 1 Family Suite that sleeps 4, 1 Executive Suite that sleeps 4, and 1 Villa that sleeps 6.
Children of all ages are welcome and the family is well geared up to welcome younger travelers, with the option to provide cots, a well-designed family suite and the villa for families looking for more space. Please do be aware that the balcony railings in the suites and at the main lodge are not fully closed-in, so parents need to accompany children under the age of 6.

When to go
Summer (November to March) days can get quite warm (up to 28-32 degrees on average) but it is a dry heat. Summer rainfall, normally in the form of thunder storms are usually in the evening, however, the African climate is still always unpredictable. Fall (April to May) days can still be warm but the evenings cool down. Average day time temperature 22-28 degrees. Evenings 10-15 degrees. Winter (June to August) days are warm (temperatures in the mid-twenties) evenings and early mornings very cold with average early morning temperatures 5-12 degrees. It very rarely rains at this time when the bush is golden and dry.
Spring (September, October) days start getting hotter, evenings and mornings could still be crisp but not as cold. A very slim chance of rain.
