There is no bad time to go on safari in the Kruger National Park. The experience does, however, change from month to month. In the summer months (October to March), it gets very hot. The verdant vistas are all the more spectacular because of the rains, but this means that the foliage is denser, water is more abundant and game is therefore trickier to see. There are lots of beautiful migratory birds during the summer months. While the daytime temperature in the winter months (May to September) is ideal, it does get a little chilly at night and in the early morning.
Nestled in the prestigious Sabi Sands Game reserve &Beyond's newest property, Tengile River Lodge, is a warm and contemporary take on the traditional safari lodge. Nine luxury suites follow the length of the river offering fabulous wildlife sightings.
"Tengile" translated means tranquil and this lies at the very heart of the design of this brand new contemporary &Beyond lodge in the well known Sabi Sands Game reserve.
Elegant interiors, intimate spaces and open air decks for group gatherings offer a comfortable and contemporary setting, along with maintaining the traditional safari lodge feel. Sustainability is of integral importance to this new lodge's design and function and therefore environmentally friendly construction materials have been selected along with the use of solar power, contributing towards an efficient and environmentally friendly lodge.
Nine floating spacious suites follow the curve of the river bank. Raised above ground level, each suite not only boast fantastic views out over the river, but a private sunken outside lounge area, a spacious private deck and your very own private lap pool to cool off in between game drives. The elegantly designed suite offers bedrooms and bathrooms that open out into the forest creating personal outside spaces, and the living space can be converted to an additional smaller room for children that are welcome to the lodge over the age of twelve.
When you are not participating in morning and afternoon game drives, or getting close to nature on fascinating bush walks, you are able to relax in the lodges tranquil spa and gym where there are a range of indulgent treatments to choose from.
