There is no bad time to go on safari in the Kruger National Park. The experience does, however, change from month to month. In the summer months (October to March), it gets very hot. The verdant vistas are all the more spectacular because of the rains, but this means that the foliage is denser, water is more abundant and game is therefore trickier to see. There are lots of beautiful migratory birds during the summer months. While the daytime temperature in the winter months (May to September) is ideal, it does get a little chilly at night and in the early morning.
To start planning your vacation to Lion Sands Tinga Lodge
Lion Sands Tinga Lodge is a nine suite lodge on the banks of the Sabie River in the Kruger National Park. This is a beautiful safari lodge in one of the most notable big game viewing areas in South Africa.

A 5,000 hectare (12,500 acre) private concession with the highest concentration of Black Rhino in South Africa. It is the only private reserve with access to both the Sabie and Sand rivers, enhancing diversity of game viewing.
Tinga Lodge is one of Lion Sands' two nine tented camps, on the banks of the Sabie River, along with sister camp Narina Lodge. Together they form Lion Sands Kruger National Park, a unique product in an incredible location. Fantastic accommodation and guiding have been combined with first-class service and accommodation to ensure guests here enjoy a truly memorable safari experience.

There are just nine suites at Tinga Lodge, set on either side of the main lodge building. The king size beds are all convertible to twins and two of the rooms can accommodate a child sharing with their parents. Each is en-suite with outdoor showers and a private deck with plunge pool. The rooms are complete with both air conditioning and ceiling fans, luxurious mosquito nets and include mini-bars, and in room safe, telephones and hairdryers.
Children above the age of six are welcome at Tinga Lodge and are able to accompany their parents on safari activities. The rangers and lodge staff have a number of activities tailored to children, with the aim of maximising their experience in the bush.
Babysitting is available at an additional cost.
The list of activities at Lion Sands is a long one! Guests can choose to take part on morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles, or head out on bush walks.
