To start planning your vacation to Hermanus Beach House
The Hermanus Beach House, formerly known as La Gratitude, is a beautiful beach property, comfortably accommodating 10 people just meters from one of South Africa's most celebrated beaches in the small coastal town of Hermanus.
The house is built on 3000sq meters of gently sloping grass, edged by indigenous fynbos vegetation. There is a sizeable outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers, a Jacuzzi and an outdoor braai and dining area. The house has wonderful sea and mountain views.
Hermanus Beach House offers great self-catering (a chef can be organized) vacation accommodation, in a family home that was intended as a quiet retreat from which to explore the wide range of activities of the local area.
The house has four bedrooms on the ground floor spread over the property, bedrooms 2 and 3 are en-suite, while bedrooms 1 and 4 share a bathroom. Bedrooms 1 and 2 feature king size beds while 3 and 4 are twins. Upstairs are a further two inter-leading bedrooms with twin beds. These rooms share a bathroom and are accessed by a staircase in the kitchen.
La Gratitude is a self-catered villa, there is a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor braai area, with seating both indoors and out. It is easy to arrange for a cook to come daily to the house, they specialize in simple but delicious home cooking using locally sourced ingredients.
From July to November this stretch of the South African coast sees the arrival of the Southern Right whale and is widely considered to be the best land-based whale watching location on Earth. Hermanus itself is surrounded by vineyards and farms, there are beautiful coastal walks, nearby are some fantastic golf courses, first class tennis courts and for the more adventurous cage diving with great white sharks and much much more.
The local restaurants in this area are fist class, celebrating fresh, locally sourced produce, especially delicious seafood from the cool Atlantic mineral rich seas.
