Cape Town is a year-round destination. The summers are generally warm and dry, while winters tend to be wet and cool, the rains brought on by fierce north westerly gales. Neither season experiences extremes of temperature, thanks to prevailing winds. Summer (Nov-Mar) is the hottest with temperatures 20-40°C. Mid season (Apr, May, Sep, Oct) temps between 10-30°C. Winter (from June- Aug) is the low season with temps 0-25°C.

Strandloper Ocean Lodge is hidden away on the shores of the unspoiled fishing village of Paternoster. The 13 exquisite rooms are a fusion of beach style and contemporary luxury and each has its own terrace or private courtyard.

Situated just a few steps from the sea and in the tranquil village of Paternoster, Strandloper Ocean Lodge is in the perfect location for anyone looking for an unspoiled, ocean getaway.

Strandloper’s thirteen uniquely decorated bedrooms all have wide doors with uninterrupted views of the ocean. The rooms at Strandloper Ocean Hotel are either king or twins and all are en suite with baths and outdoor showers. There is also the luxurious Presidential suite with its own private seafront terrace, heated swimming pool and a private lounge with a fireplace.

There is a comfortable lounge area with sea views and a fireplace for the cooler months. A complimentary breakfast is served every morning for all guests and there is a light lunch menu served from midday. Afternoon tea is served every day with a selection of cakes and sandwiches on offer.

At Strandloper, you can do as much or as little as you wish, take a kayak out to sea and search for dolphins and whales or rent a bike and explore the surrounding area. Alternatively take a walk down the beach or wander the streets of Paternoster in the evenings. Paternoster village is a haven for fresh seafood and is known for its exquisite lobster, so go in search of one of the famous restaurants for an unforgettable meal.

Accommodation

Strandloper Ocean Lodge boasts 13 spacious suites; each of them with their own private terrace or courtyard with stunning views of the ocean. All rooms feature either king or twin beds. There is complimentary Wi-Fi and satellite TV. The rooms have all been carefully and uniquely decorated and the bathrooms feature handmade stone baths and outdoor showers. There is also the luxurious Presidential suite which is right on the beach and has its own private seafront terrace and a heated swimming pool. It also has a private lounge and dining area with a fireplace and even an office in the loft.

Children 12 and older are welcome at Strandloper Ocean Lodge.

Facilities

There is a complimentary breakfast served every morning and guests can choose between hot breakfasts or continental. There is also a light lunch menu and tea is served in the afternoons with a selection of different cakes. Dinner can be made available to guests upon request. The cosy lounge area has beautiful views out towards the ocean and there is a fireplace which is used during the cooler months. The hotel has Wi-Fi throughout and there is also a complimentary laundry service for guests.

Activities

Paternoster is famous for its seafood and lobster and is the perfect destination for guests in search of the ultimate dish. During the day, you can take a walk along the endless beach or if you’re feeling more adventurous take to the waves in a kayak to try and spot whales and dolphin further out to sea. You can also hire a bike and explore the surrounding area.
