Okonjima Plains Camp, which replaced the Main Camp and reopened in June 2014. Plains Camp has a fantastic, vast main area with a bar, shop, dining area and a selection of seating areas; it's split level and is known as The Barn - the focal point being the enormous floor to ceiling glass windows right across the front which overlook the plains. Plains Camp has 24 rooms, so it's a relatively large camp, and the rooms are split into two categories - the View Rooms are larger, newly built, and have an outside veranda - they are quite widely spaced and have views over the plain. The Standard rooms are a little smaller, and still have the views but do not have a veranda.

Plains Camp has a large seating area to the front, a swimming pool and a barbecue and pizza ovens which are often used for pizza evenings.

Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation, which works with local farmers to conserve Namibia’s leopard population. All guests will have the unique opportunity to watch the AfriCat Foundation researchers at work and to participate in radio-tracking on foot. Alternatively, watch leopards from the safety of a hide or a safari vehicle, and track them using signals from their radio collars.

The main hide is a fantastic spot for wildlife viewing with more than 300 species identified. Sit quietly after dinner, and you may spot porcupines, honey badgers and many other nocturnal species. There are also numerous guided and self-guided walking trails on offer.
