Londo Lodge is owned by a charming Dutch couple who run the hotel with a real home from home feel. With only six villas it is small and intimate with a very welcoming and laid back vibe. You are invited to kick your shoes off when you arrive and enjoy the slow pace of Mozambique life.
Delicious fresh seafood is served in different locations around the hotel with an emphasis on meals times to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, beautifully presented dishes and a glass of cold wine! The staff here are all local Mozambique people who will look after you with great pride and full of friendly smiles.
Every room is slightly different but all are large and spacious boasting spectacular ocean views from each open fronted villa. There is one beautifully positioned main pool raised above the beach near the main bar and lounge area. The beach below is a stunning sandy cove which does mostly disappear at high tide, but this is when the bay becomes one enormous pool perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
The relaxing Spa is set on the cliff edge taking advantage of the views over the Londo bay with a wide range of treatments to ensure guests relax in style.
The activities are plentiful, from snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing to exploring the surrounding mangroves by traditional dug-out canoe, visiting the local village and walking through the nearby bush marvelling at the giant Baobab trees and even spotting some resident buck!
Londo Lodge is a perfect place for families as children feel comfortable to run about and enjoy the freedom the property offers. It is also the ideal place for couples looking for a quiet retreat with plenty of areas to curl up with a book and totally unwind.
Accommodation is in four Standard Ocean View Villas and two two-bedroom Ocean View Suites, each ocean-view villa is built on a 7 meter high cliff overlooking the majestic Pemba bay. Octagonal spacious rooms with outside teak decking, louvered 3 meter wide doors and traditional bamboo and thatch roofing. All villas are fitted with handmade UK mattresses, Belgian bed linen, in and outdoor bathrooms, handmade chrome taps and showers, draped mosquito nets and air-conditioning units.
Eclectic in design, the villas have a delicate look and feel where Moroccan art blends in with traditional Maconde woodcraft and Victorian mirrors.
