Shinde is a beautiful and elegant safari camp located at the edge of the Shinde lagoon, an ideal base for water and land based safari activities. Located within the Shinde concession of the Okavango Delta, which borders the north of the Moremi Reserve, the wildlife in the area is really diverse.

The main camp has a dining room and lounge area set over different levels, allowing a good perspective of the Delta's waterways. It is set under canvas and surrounded by beautiful mangosteen and ebony trees.

Located at the edge of a lagoon, it is surrounded by clear waterways, which flow over yellow sands and past palm-fringed islands. This is a photographer’s delight. The island is especially favoured by members of the antelope family, including the elusive sitatunga whose elongated and splayed hooves enable it to walk on the unstable beds of reeds floating on the water. The well-equipped delta craft will enable guests to see fascinating breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans and storks. Your guides will also take you walking and for game drives by 4WD vehicle to view big game including lion and cheetah.

The eight large, twin-bedded safari style tents all have an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water and flush toilet with an open ’window’ looking out onto the delta.

Shinde Enclave is an exclusive 'camp within a camp', offering the ultimate in personal service with a fantastic wilderness experience. With a private dining and lounge area, this intimate hideaway also offers guests the services of a private chef, waiter and housekeeper as well as their own professional guide and game drive vehicle. Consisting of three luxurious tents built on raised teak decks and overlooking windswept papyrus beds, Shinde Enclave accommodates a maximum of 6 guests. Each classic safari tent features an en-suite bathroom, hot and cold running water and flush toilet - with a view! The luxury tents are within close proximity to the private dining area and viewing deck, affording an exclusive hideaway and perfect location from which a family or small group of friends can explore the Okavango Delta.

Shinde comprises eight twin-bedded classic safari tents, each with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. Accommodation is generally twin on comfortable three quarter beds, however double accommodation is available on request. Each tent enjoys generated electricity and a private viewing deck and each one is strategically positioned to offer splendid views, whether across the Okavango Delta's mysterious waterways or open grasslands.

Shinde Enclave is a private section of the camp with 3 tents and private dining and lounge areas, a dedicated chef, waiter, barman and housekeeper - ideal for small groups of friends or families.

There is a minimum age of 10 years. For Enclave bookings younger children may be accepted on request.

Shinde offers both water and land activities year round. Motorboats or Mokoro provide a chance to experience the incredible bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Okavango Delta. Game drives are conducted by a personal guide in comfortable, specially designed game drive vehicles. For the more adventurous, guided walks are also available while fly fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tigerfish.

Free Activities : Game drives, night drives, guided walks, boat trips, mokoro trips, fishing.
