Linyanti Ebony Camp is situated within a private concession bordering the western boundary of the Chobe National Park in the North of Botswana. The marshlands around camp, created when the Linyanti River flooded, attract a huge diversity of game, particularly during the dry season as it is the only reliable source of water in the area.
The concession is known for its large populations of elephant and buffalo, which along with zebra, giraffe, sable, and the rare sitatunga antelope can be seen wandering along the waterways in front of the lodge. Hippo and crocodile can often be found in the surrounding marshes and at night, aardvark, leopard and civet come out of hiding. The area is also known for its prolific bird life which also includes a variety of raptors and owls. The game viewing here takes place in a variety of forms; 4x4 safari vehicles, walking safaris and guided mokoro excursions; allowing guests to explore as much of the area as possible.
The camp is built on a raised deck, allowing for wonderful views over the marshes and lagoons. There is a main living and dining area and guests can dine outside, around the campfire if they wish. The camp also features a small splash pool, perfect for cooling off after a long game drive.
Linyanti Ebony is excellent for families, having a two bedroom family tent with a lounge area - the camp runs the Young Explorers program, specifically tailored to families on safari. Nature walks for children, camp crafts and fishing trips are just some of the activities children can enjoy with their specially trained guide.
Linyanti Ebony has four tented rooms, three of the tents can either be a double bed or two single beds. There is also one family tent which has a double bed and a separate room with two single beds. The tented rooms are spacious and airy and have a living area and an en suite bathroom with a shower or a bath.
Linyanti Ebony Camp is ideal for families and small groups who are after a completely private safari experience as the camp can be used on an exclusive basis. There is an indoor dining and lounge area in the main tent but most meals are eaten outside, around the campfire.
Activities on offer are game drives in the open 4x4 vehicles, walking safaris with professional guides, excursions along the waterways in a traditional mokoro and boating and fishing on one of the lagoons.
Two additional activities make this camp unique. Firstly as the camp is set within a private reserve, night drives are on offer. Guests that want to take to the skies also have the option of requesting a scenic helicopter flight in search of animals below.
