Description

A 13-room ksar with two adjacent riads located inside the beautiful oasis of Skoura, Ksar el Kabbaba is the perfect place for relaxing after enjoying a busy day exploring the area. Made up of several attached buildings surrounding a spectacular pool, the grounds and accommodations perfectly combine tradition with modern amenities.

Ksar el Kabbaba is a stunningly renovated Berber castle surrounded by the palm trees of the oasis of Skoura. The first view of this property, with its huge arched doorway and intricate exterior carvings, is confirmation that you have arrived to a traditional Moroccan castle from centuries past. Lovingly restored and beautifully kept, this family owned property has been in the same family for over 100 years. Warm hospitality reigns supreme at Ksar el Kabbaba, and the welcoming tea ceremony will immediately let you know that you are an honoured guest. There are two lounge areas with traditional tadelakt walls, reclining couches, and small tables for you to sip your tea and read a book or play one of several board games. Don’t forget to look up, as the stunning hand painted ceiling overhead deserves your attention. There are many small details within the walls of Ksar el Kabbaba that will delight you. Outside is even more spectacular, as the grounds and gardens are centered around a 250-year-old olive tree. Spacious and elegant, the gardens offer many places to relax and stroll, with apple, pomegranate, and palm trees offering hammocks and fragrant shade. During the evening, it becomes even more special thanks to the romantic candles and lanterns that light the meandering paths and illuminate the private dining spaces. Next door is another garden with aromatic and organic plants that are used for teas, and a vegetable garden where organic vegetables are lovingly grown for use in the kitchen, where the chef is happy to customize meals based on your needs. The rooftop terraces have wonderful views of the River of Pilgrims and surrounding oasis, while the High Atlas Mountains pierce the skyline in the distance. The unique backdrop is a 300-year-old Berber castle ruin, which has been in the family for 7 generations and sits proudly behind the ksar, keeping a watchful eye. The ksar and riads surround a stunning pool area, complete with sun lounges to soak up the sun or umbrellas and covered cabanas for when you need some shade. On-site is a spa offering massage, body scrub, steam room, and gym, and also available is the hammam, with marble floor tiles and zellig tiled walls offering the age-old wellness ritual.
