Ksar Jallal is owned by a French owner, Helene, who has spent years in Morocco before building her own desert Kasbah home which provides the ultimate in peaceful isolation. Set in pretty gardens with palm trees, olive and fruit trees, Ksar Jallal has a main Kasbah containing the property's communal areas with two outlying Kasbahs with more suites.
The accommodation at Ksar Jallal is lovely and the suites are both spacious and private with delightful terraces offering spectacular views. You can certainly see an element of French flair in the décor which blends Moroccan antiques with vibrant colors traditional to this region. The personal touch that the rooms afford is extended to the service at Ksar Jallal where Helene and her team make sure that nothing is too much trouble for their guests.
Inside the main house there is a lounge with warming fireplace, perfect for curling up in the evenings with a glass of wine. Delicious, freshly prepared meals are enjoyed in the kasbah's cosy dining room and there is also a small TV room and a children’s room with CD and internet access.
The Sahara's nomadic people, stark scenery, palm line oases and desert wildlife are just some of the reasons that venturing out from Ksar Jallal is hard to resist. Whether you go quad biking, camel trekking, dune boarding or simply walking, the vast expanse of the Sahara holds many adventures that can be discussed each evening in front of the kasbah's crackling fire.
Kasbah Jallal has 8 Suites of which there are three in the main Kasbah (Sidi-Hamza, Taouz, Suite Figuig) and 4 in the 2 mini Kasbahs (Tizimi, Rissani, Igoulmimen & Pavillon Fezna). Suites have all been individually furnished and decorated and remain true to the Moroccan setting of the kasbah. Each has its own private terrace for taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Children are more than welcome at Ksar Jallal where personal service is very important and ensures that families are well looked after. There are no specific facilities for children other than a room with music and computer facilities but Helene and her team will do their best to meet any specific requests made. Cots and babysitting are available on request.
Ksar Jallal's main building is the heart of the property and here you will find the lounge, dining room, TV room, traditional hamman and children's room with internet access.
The isolation and wilderness, vast open spaces, desert wildlife and surreal scenery are just some of the attractions of the Sahara Desert around the Erfoud region. Activities at Ksar Jallal focus on these expansive desert surroundings and the hotel can organize guided walks, 4x4 excursions, quad bikes, dune boarding and camel treks among other things.
