Situated just south of the equator, the Seychelles have a warm tropical climate. The consistently warm tropical weather makes the Seychelles a good year round destination.
There is little fluctuation in warmth, with temperatures ranging from 24C to 31C all year round. From May to October a southeast trade wind can bring marginally cooler weather and fresh breezes. From November to March the northwest monsoon wind blows, typically raising temperature and humidity. December and January are the wettest months, but the rain falls in short sharp bursts before the sun comes out again.

I think the Banyan Tree is a lovely option for couples, with each villa having it's own pool and offering wonderful privacy. The location on Intendance Bay is stunning, and having your own pool means you don't need to be put off by the rough waters between May and September which can make the sea too rough to swim in. The main restaurant, Au Jardin d'Epices, has absolutely breathtaking views of Intendance Bay.

A well established Banyan Tree property which has recently benefited from having it's interior furnishings updated, it is looking fresh and beautiful when I visited in December 2015. The Suites all have their own private plunge pool and I particularly like those located down by the beach as here there is no need to take the golf buggy shuttle and you are just a few steps from this amazing sandy beach. The beach here has some rather large waves coming in and there is flag service to advise you if it is safe to swim, so most guests tend to use the hotel pool or their own private pools. A great hotel for couples and some families but with slightly older children I would say due to the layout of the suites.

Banyan Tree is in a stunning location with Intendance bay as the focal point. This wide and long sandy beach is spectacular especially at sunset. The Colonial hotel is beautifully furnished and all villas are extremely spacious and feature a private pool. Choose between a stay on the beach front or high on the hillside for panoramic views. Enjoy a cocktail at the Rum Shed at the far end of the beach or in the main hotel building at La Varangue before dinner. Dine at any of the three restaurants or within the privacy of your villa. For a special occasion why not enjoy a romantic private dinner in the moonlight gazebo or an intimate beach barbecue.

Banayn Tree has a wonderful colonial feel to it. All the rooms are light and spacious and the beach front villas, just like the name suggests have direct access to the beach. Some guests like to be high up on the hill with stunning views but for me the beach villas were amazing as you have the sandy beach just there. All villas have their own pools and the beachfront villas have a jacuzzi and outdoor shower. Amazing food at the hotel, Saffron restaurant offers incredible Thai food and for more for an authentic experience serving Creole style dishes dine at Chez Lamar. Something to bear in mind, during the south-east monsoon the seas can become quite rough so it is not advised to swim from the beach, however tempting it can look!

The Banyan Tree is looking lovely now that it has been new refurbished. it is very colonial in style and situated on a lovely beach. Guests tend to spend most of their time in their villas due to all of them having private pools, so the resort can feel quiet. Room 407 offer the best view of the resort. The eight spa pavilions offers ocean views where you can hear the sea as you are having your treatments.
Turtles lay eggs on their beach, which was something that I got to experience first hand when I was there.

I absolutely loved the beach at The Banyan Tree. It is beautiful, but be warned, the sea can get quite rough from May to September and swimming is not advisable due to the strong currents. The Banyan Tree is a romantic and luxurious hotel with rooms scattered up the hillside giving you great views out over the Indian Ocean. The style in the rooms is a blend of contemporary and colonial decor and they all have decent-sized plunge pools. I like the fact that all the rooms are located to give you the most privacy possible - so you don't have other people walking directly past your room or looking into your enclosed garden/pool area. This makes the hotel a perfect option for couples and honeymooners. Children are welcome, but there are no facilities other than babysitting. I had some great meals at the Banyan Tree. I can highly recommend eggs Benedict with a glass of champagne for breakfast - a great start to your day, and also the Thai restaurant, Saffron, which serves authentic Thai dishes.
