Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Mauritius enjoys a typically tropical climate with year-round heat, although the southeast trade winds help it never to feel too muggy. The summer months are from December to April, when it can nevertheless be extremely humid, and the winter, such as it is, runs from May to November, and is cooler and drier.

The best months to visit Mauritius are May to early December. January and February, the peak cyclone months, are best avoided by water-sports enthusiasts and divers. Cyclones rarely hit Mauritius (although Rodrigues has suffered far more regularly than the mainland) but cyclones way out at sea can bring days of squally rain.

Coastal temperatures range between 25°C and 33°C in summer and between 18°C and 24°C in winter. On the plateau it will be some 5°C cooler. The highlands are also the wettest part of the island – it can rain here at any time of year, and even when it’s not raining the area can be cloaked in low-lying cloud. When the winds are at their strongest in July and August it can be blustery on the east coast, though the breeze brings welcome relief in summer.

Apart from the Christmas-New Year peak, Mauritius doesn’t really have high and low seasons. The situation is more dependent on outside factors (such as the French school vacations, which cause a big increase in demand and prices in August).

A great resort for all the family. The kids club has loads of activities to do both in and out of the resort including horse riding, zip lining and cooking classes. The villas have their own pools and the gardens feel very secluded and private. This is a good option for young and older families or couples.

The Four Seasons is an incredible resort offering some wonderful accommodation and the most attentive service! Set amongst the mangroves but also with a wonderful beach, the views and gardens are just spectacular. The Spa is a must, set in a tranquil area, it has a wonderful sense of calm and a huge variety of treatments. Both couples and single treatment rooms are available. The food is just wonderful and the breakfast buffet is just perfect - be sure to try a freshly made smoothie!

A beautiful property offering all villa accommodation with your own private pool, surrounded by stunning gardens and offering a lovely selection of dining options, this is a perfect choice for both families and couples. Spend your day relaxing within the grounds of your villa, on the beautiful beaches or go for a snorkel within the nearby mangroves for a different experience. They have a selection of water sports, two nearby golf courses, a large children's club with activities arranged throughout the day along with a teens club where they can test their skills at being a DJ. A wonderful option for your vacation in Mauritius.

Arriving by boat into the tranquil waters of the lagoon, our first impression was of two perfect crescent beaches divided by the limpid waters of a stunning pool flanked by majestic palm trees. Beach villas dotted the sandy shore along with the hideaway Sanctuary Villas on 'Quiet Beach' - all with views to the calm turquoise waters surrounding the resort. If your party was larger they had some wonderful residences, Royal Villas and the amazing Presidential Suite. We could not decide which restaurant was our favorite as the choice was so huge from the Bambou beachfront restaurant, Il Forno and Acuapazza for delicious Italian, Beau Champ for the divine breakfasts and beautiful French dishes in the evening - the food was truly excellent. Wonderful water sports, segways, complimentary golf, a wonderful Spa, fantastic Kid's Club or simply idle days spent staring out to sea - Four Seasons Anahita has something for everyone. The staff are simply amazing, catering for every whim and waking up to birdsong every morning before being greeted with their welcoming smiles added to the sunshine every day. This is a perfect hotel for everyone and provides as little or as much as any guest could wish for.

Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is a perfect retreat for both families and couples. Surrounded by the beautiful mangroves, water dominates this resort and makes staying there a magical experience. The 3 restaurants each offer something different and use fresh and local ingredients throughout, try the chilli and mixed berry daiquiri for a refresher at lunch. With the Hobbit Club (children's club) and Karokan (teens club) available for free your children will not only make new friends but also try new things!

Luxurious and stylish, the Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is sure to impress. Set over a vast area with tropical manicured gardens and pathways meandering throughout, you can take a stroll or borrow the resort bicycles to explore further. Golfers will enjoy the complimentary 18 hole golf course on the Anahita estate. All accommodations come with their own private pools and for a touch of additional luxury and a larger pool try one of the new Sanctuary Villas. For larger groups and families the Presidential Villa has to be one of the most impressive in the Indian Ocean.
