With accommodation consisting of just 8 luxury en-suite safari tents, Entumoto offers a great, exclusive safari experience for couples and families alike on the border of Kenya's iconic Maasai Mara reserve.
Set in the Siana conservancy, right on the border of the reserve, Entumoto offers its guests the chance to explore the Maasai Mara combined with the flexibility and exclusivity offered from a conservancy area.
Each tent is spaced approximately 100 feet from one another offering real privacy. Four of the suites are doubles or twins with en-suite bathrooms and large decks, perfect for couples. The four family suites are made up of two bedrooms, an en-suite bathroom and a central lounge area with open fireplaces to ward off the evening chill up on the escarpment. The lounge area is furnished with two divan beds which can easily be turned into comfortable beds to create a third bedroom.
The camp is unfenced allowing game to roam through the camp. Security is provided, day and night, by Maasai askaris (warriors) who will be on hand to escort you between your tent and the communal areas.
The main areas are shaded by multilayered canvas and consist of a sitting and dining area, and a well stocked library, all with mind-blowing views of the Mara Plains stretching below. The tree-shaded swimming pool is a great feature of Entumoto and a great spot to cool off during the heat of the day.
Game drives are offered in the morning and afternoon in open safari vehicles. As the camp sits outside of the reserve night drives are available offering the chance to see this unique ecosystem come to life after dark. Guided walks with a Maasai naturalist offer a different perspective and are great in combination with a visit to local Maasai communities. Hot air ballooning at dawn over the Talek Plains can also be arranged.
Location & Directions
Maasai Mara, Kenya
Entumoto Private Safari Camp stands elevated in the hills of the Megwarra escarpment, commanding breathtaking views and sunsets over the Mara plains. The camp is in part of the Siana conservancy, on the border of the Masai Mara reserve, between the park gates Oloolaimutia and Sekenani.
When to go
The only time to avoid Kenya is during the long rainy season in April and May. November is considered the short rainy season, however, these are less predictable and are much lighter. The best time of year to visit the Maasai Mara is during the Great Wildebeest Migration which tends to pass through the Mara between mid July to late October.
