The rainy season on the Kenyan Coast is generally during May and June. So from July onward the weather is gradually getting hotter and dryer until March/April when it reaches the high 90's (over 40 degrees C). Christmas/New Year is generally considered the peak season and the weather is lovely then with constant sunshine and gentle off shore breezes. If you want clear seas for diving then make your trip after August/Sept.

Garden Villa enjoys the same levels of exclusivity and pampering as the other villas at Alfajiri. There's a lovely pool and expansive lush gardens, again complete with a private massage pavilion. The sitting and dining area are open sided under a huge thatched sail of a roof and are spacious and very comfortable. The service is hard to fault, your butler is at hand before you realise you're even in need of anything. The food is fresh, local and exquisite. I was slightly unsure about the themed rooms: Japanese, Indian...but they are all unquestionably comfortable with large modern ensuite bathrooms.

I loved Alfajiri when I visited briefly in March 2012 - it's in a stunning location, overlooking a glorious beach with azure blue seas, and the villas are all unique and individual - beautifully designed and with every home comfort you would wish for.
What impressed me most was the attention to detail, the service and the food here - it would not be exaggerating to say that the food is exquisite - surf-fresh fish prepared perfectly, delicious salads, wonderful combinations and little touches here and there really made my brief stay a culinary delight.
I would highly recommend Alfajiri for families, groups of friends traveling together - or for the most luxurious and pampering of honeymoons.
