Tennis plays a big part in Mallorcan life; popular with all ages it is played all year round. The courts across the island are generally clay or hard courts, which are perfect for learning as it encourages long rallies and a slightly slower pace.
Part of the enthusiasm for tennis on Mallorca comes from the success of Rafael Nadal who is in fact creating an international tennis centre in his hometown of Manacor. The construction is expected to begin at the end of this summer and the project is being entirely funded by Nadal.
