Itinerary

Perfect for families with young children looking for a sunny getaway in Asia, this 8-day trip to Bangkok and Koh Samui is an ideal first introduction to Thailand for little ones. Taking in the key landmarks in the capital and relaxing for 6 nights on the sandy beaches of Koh Samui, we recommend for school holidays between February - September.

  1. Days 1-3: Bangkok

Landing in Bangkok, your family holiday begins as you are whisked away from the airport by your private driver, headed for the Peninsula, one of the best family friendly properties right in the heart of the city. Kids will love the spacious pool and riverside location with the exciting option of taking the hotel shuttle boat to the market, and friendly staff are always on hand to deal with any request, big or small. The Peninsula Academy offers fun cultural programs for children, tailor-made to suit all ages. Our friendly guide will escort you for an exciting trip to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, former residence of the Thai Royal family. Watch the monks gathering at the temple for their haunting morning chanting, a perfect introduction to Thai life. Marvel at the vast 45m (147ft) long golden Buddha in Wat Pho and explore throne rooms and richly decorated chambers in the Royal Palace.

    Accommodation: Peninsula Bangkok (2 nights)

  2. Days 3-9: Koh Samui

For six blissful nights, you will be unwinding and playing on the sandy beaches of Koh Samui. We recommend the Samujana, made with young families in mind with its luxurious private villas, complete with butler service. Although the Samujana is not directly on the beach and requires a short 10-minute drive, we feel with the spoiling full size private pools and in-villa dining, you may not want to venture out too often! Nearby there is great snorkelling and many exciting options for day trips, such as island hopping tours or an excursion to one of the nearby waterfalls for a day spent together enjoying the tropical surroundings.

    Accommodation: Samujana (6 nights)

Experiences

  • Grand Palace & Wat Pho in Style

Spend half a day exploring two of Bangkok's most iconic sites; the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. Accompanied by your own English-speaking guide, you will learn more about Buddhism in Thailand as well as the country's much loved Royal Family.
