Visit the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral, the site of first church service in Karakol. Built in 1895, it was vandalized by Bolsheviks in the 1930s but only restored to its original conditiona dn reconsecrated after the fall of Soviet Union in 1991.
After that, visit the Dungan Mosque. Dungan are ethnic Chinese Muslims who migrated to Central Asia in the 19th century and their mosque, built in 1910, resembled more like a temple and were consructed without any nails.
