Visit Mount Sakurajima and observe the surrounding geographical features from the Arimura Observatory. Head to Chiran and take a stroll along the samurai district before visiting the Chiran Tokko Museum.
Visit the symbol of Kagoshima, Mount Sakurajima, another active volcano of Kyushu. Observe the geographical features and vegetation of the region from the lava flow of the last eruption in 1914 at the Arimura Observatory.
Transfer to Chiran, a small and well-preserved samurai district that still maintains the outlook and atmosphere from 250 years ago. Head to the Chiran Tokko Museum, which preserves documents, letters and belongings of the members of the special attack corps called “kamikaze pilots” who resorted to flying war planes into enemy warships towards the end of World War 2.
