Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Italy is an exciting place to visit at any time of the year, and most attractions are open all year round. The best time to visit is in May, early June, late September and October. Days during those months are usually warm, and quite long. July and August are hot and humid with many tourists. Since most Italians leave their hot cities in the summer, many restaurants are closed in the cities.

Winter can get cold, particularly January but it is quiet. Temperatures are more favourable in the spring and autumn months.

  2. Days 1-4: Venice

Your Italian adventure starts in the vibrant and opulent city of Venice, built over a picturesque network of 150 canals. Explore the city and get lost in the maze of winding streets, crossing the canals by foot or on board one of Venice’s iconic gondolas. With your private guide you’ll discover the history behind St Mark’s Square, home to the towering Campanile bell tower and the extravagant Doge’s Palace, once a seat of huge political power. Head away from this lively square and admire the stunning architecture of Venice’s backstreets, where a new surprise awaits around every corner. Culture lovers could also visit one of the city’s celebrated art galleries or enjoy a spectacular performance at the world-famous La Fenice opera house.

The cultural capital of Italy, Florence boasts some of the most renowned art galleries and museums in the world, as well as truly breath-taking architecture. Admire the city’s most famous sights with your private guide, including the Ponte Vecchio, the Piazza della Signoria and the iconic Duomo, before hopping in a Florentine gondola to watch the sun set across the city.
