The best time to visit China in combination with the west coast of Thailand is from November through to April. The weather in China is optimal in autumn from September - early November and from March through to May this is also a beautiful time in the country. The winter in China can get very cold but is also a beautiful time to visit. For the west coast of Thailand, the best time to travel is in the driest months from December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season.

Starting in Beijing you’ll have the chance to journey through China uncovering the history of this amazing country with stops in Xian, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Then to end, we have included four nights in Thailand where you can completely relax and unwind, making sure you come home from your holiday completely indulged and relaxed.
Start the adventure in Beijing, the real cultural centre and hotspot for China. With a vast array of sites and experiences to explore, this is the perfect introduction to this incredible country. We have included a private guide for you throughout your time here who will be completely flexible to your personal needs, making sure you get the most out of the city. Spend your days exploring the vast Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Great Wall of China, which are musts for any visit. We also highly recommend a visit to the Temple of Heaven to see the older generation of Beijingers taking part in their morning exercise regimes with ballroom dancing and badminton.
Then it is on to Xian, which you will reach by highspeed train. The biggest draw to Xian is the world-famous Terracotta Army which is just as impressive as it sounds, if not more. Each of the warriors were individually designed and crafted so all have unique facial features and stances. Alongside this there is the vibrant Islamic quarter of the city which has a fantastic atmosphere in the evening if you can brave the hustle and bustle! From Xian head off to the bright lights of Shanghai which has an undeniable cosmopolitan energy. You’ll reach Shanghai with a direct flight from Xian and upon arrival in the city we have included a tour of the Bund, the city’s famous walkway, so that you can get a real feel for the historic side of Shanghai. Shanghai has a fantastic energy and gives you a chance to really experience modern China against the backdrop of its fascinating history. With your private guide, spend your days exploring the Yu Gardens and French Quarter and nights dining at some of the best restaurants in the country. On your second full day in Shanghai, with your guide, we have also included a visit to the small town of Tongli, one of the oldest settlements in the region. Here you’ll have the chance to explore the intricate maze of canals and view some incredible examples of Ming Dynasty residences.
The last stop on your China tour will be Hong Kong which you will reach through a direct flight from Shanghai. Hong Kong is another incredibly vibrant city and you’ll be amazed by the towering skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island in juxtaposition with the characterful streets of Kowloon, full of buzzing markets and street hawkers. There is so much to do and see in this metropolis that there will never be a dull moment.
After such a jam packed and exciting adventure you will have more than earned a few nights of complete relaxation on Thailand's west coast. From Hong Kong, you’ll take a direct flight to Phuket where you’ll spend four nights relaxing on the pristine, palm fringed beaches.
Wind through the alleyways and lanes of Beijing’s Hutongs and discover neighbourhood haunts where you’ll taste the city’s favourite late-night snack and sample local craft beer and spirits, including the potent ‘baijiu’.
