Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Rajasthan is known as the desert state. It is largely hot and dry throughout the year, making it a great destination to get away during cold winter months.
Summer in Rajasthan extends from April to June. It’s the hottest season so not ideal for travel, although early April is a good time to get great value for money if you don’t mind the heat. In western Rajasthan temperatures may soar, particularly in May and June, so we'd suggest avoiding Jaisalmer and the Thar Desert at this time.
The monsoon season usually runs from July to September. The temperature drops slightly, and humidity increases. During this period 90% of the rain Rajasthan occurs, although in reality Rajasthan never receives much rainfall. Lakes and rivers will be higher and there's more colour to the landscape.
October to March is the best time to travel to Rajasthan. Expect warm and sunny weather, perfect for exploring and relaxing. Please note that hotels are at their busiest over the Christmas and New Year period. December and January can have very cool mornings and evening and we suggest taking some warm clothing. Whilst temperatures in the desert areas are always hot in the daytime, they become some of the coolest areas of the state once the sun goes down. It’s also normal to expect some fog in the major cities of northern Rajasthan in December and January.

Description
Lakshman Sagar was originally built in the late 19th century as a hunting lodge to host noble families and British emissaries. It has since been converted and is now a beautiful boutique hotel with all the charm of its heritage.
Lakshman Sagar is spread over thirty two acres along a man-made lake. It is made up of twelve cottages all designed in keeping with the environment and nestled in the natural topography of the land. Influenced by the indigenous Rajasthani architecture, the cottages have been re-interpreted in sustainable design using locally sourced products like wood, stone and mud. What's more with a strong influence from the neighbouring village culture and life, all the elements found in the rooms have a story to tell.
The cuisine served at Lakshman Sagar is the traditional cuisine of the area and includes special traditional hunting recipes of the Raipur Family. All the ingredients are locally grown or sourced. The staff will enquire into your preferences on arrival and tailor the menus to your personal tastes. The idea is to serve an authentic experience of rural Marwar and ensuring that the service is entirely personalised. The guests can enjoy private dining experiences, group campfire meals and even get involved in live cooking demonstrations.
Lakshman Sagar has been celebrated as the ultimate honeymoon destination the rooms are very private, and the only things you will hear during the day are the wildlife. The pool is a single boulder with the pool cut into the middle of it. For the more adventurous guest it is a great place to head to if you are looking for an authentic and rural Rajasthani experience. You can get involved in activities such as liquor tasting, goat herding, and nature walks. Explore the local culture and wildlife with a guide from the property.
