Boschendal
  • Take a bike ride along the mountain biking trails and explore the beautiful winelands

  • The perfect place to do as much or as little as you wish from relaxing in the gardens with a book to fishing in the dam and walks through the vineyard

  • Stay on one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa

  • Incredible food all paired with the finest Boschendal wines

Ideally situated between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch at Boschendal Wine Estate you can choose to do as much or as little as you wish. With a range of cottage options which accommodate from one guest to six there is something to suit everyone. Larger groups can stay in the historical Rhodes Cottage designed by Herbert Baker and the recently restored farm labourer cottages are perfect for honeymooners. All the cottages have some sort of a kitchenette so you can make tea or coffee in the mornings or enjoy a sundowner drink in your private garden in the evening.

A continental breakfast basket filled with fresh croissants, fruit and preserves will be delivered to your door each morning after 9am. Should you want an earlier start then we recommend sampling the food from the deli which opens at 0730. Food here however will be at your own expense. If you ever wish to have lunch or dinner in your cottage just ask in the morning for it to be delivered to your door.

You will feel right at home. Go for a wander through the vineyards or head out on a mountain hike stopping off to sample a fresh plum or pear in the orchards. Take a stroll up to the dam for a spot of trout fishing or simply relax by the pool.

The hotel has three different dining options from the more formal main restaurant to Le Cafe which is a perfect lunch spot in the summer and a cosy hideaway in the cooler months.
