Budapest is a year-round destination. The Christmas markets are particularly fun and great for getting into the festive spirit. The city looks particularly beautiful in Spring, especially around April when the magnolia trees come into blossom. Some of the best weather for sight-seeing can be had in autumn, when days are generally mild and clear.

Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest is centrally located at one end of the renowned Chain Bridge, with panoramic vistas of the Danube and the hills of Buda. This unique art nouveau palace is one of the city's most important landmarks.
Four Seasons Gresham Palace is located at the eastern end of the famous Chain Bridge, close to the shops and restaurants of Pest but directly opposite the Castle District. One of Budapest's finest luxury hotels, it is housed in one of the city's most iconic buildings, an art nouveau masterpiece replete with statues, columns, arches and mosaics.
The hotel occupies a building originally commissioned by the London-based Gresham Life Assurance Company, as an office and residence for their senior staff. During the occupation after World War Two, it was used by the Red Army as a barracks, and subsequently as an apartment building. A multi-million dollar reconstruction in the noughties restored original details such as the staircases, mosaics, stained class and ironwork, returning the building to its former glory and combining period touches with contemporary comfort before its reopening as the city's best hotel.
Today you can expect informal but attentive service, fine dining, and well-appointed, good sized rooms, making it a perfect base for exploring the sights of this fascinating city.
The Gresham Palace offers 179 rooms, 19 of which are suites, and all are of a good size. The decor is classical in style, with nouveau touches. All rooms offer minibar and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. Bathrooms are clad in coloured marbles, and offer separate bath and shower. The Danube category rooms have balconies and face the Buda Castle on the opposite side of the river.
The hotel has plenty of connecting rooms and can place cots in most rooms. Children are welcome to use the pool at any time as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The hotel can offer bathrobes and other special amenities for younger guests.
The spa at Four Seasons Gresham Palace offers a lap pool, a health club and a range of tempting treatments and massages.
Four Seasons have recently replaced their formal, fine-dining restaurant with the more relaxed Kollázs Brasserie and Bar, which appeals to the Budapest public as well as guests at the hotel. Kollázs means ‘collage’ in Hungarian and reflects the theme of combining Hungarian and international cuisine.
Bath Houses of Budapest
Budapest is built over a huge network of naturally occurring thermal springs. Since Roman times, the locals have enjoyed ‘taking the waters’. Today you can enjoy thermal bathing, massages and Turkish baths in opulent settings in one of the bath houses.
