Set in a cool sheltered spot beneath a canopy of mature acacia trees, Gomoti Plains Camp is situated on the edge of the Gomoti river system and flood plains right in the centre of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, providing wild and pristine game viewing.
Gomoti Plains is made up of eight classic safari tents and two family tents. Each tent has en-suite facilities and is equipped with stunning teak chairs and a wardrobe. Shared space includes a beautifully furnished large mess tent full of colour and style housing the dining area and lounge, a perfect spot to relax, in between morning and afternoon activities. By night, the camp is illuminated by solar power lighting and paraffin lamps which emit a gentle romantic glow. Each evening guests are invited for pre dinner drinks around the camp fire while sharing stories with their fellow travellers and guides.
Gomoti Plains Camp in Botswana is surrounded by a mix of habitats including woodland and sprawling grassland, both of which are submerged during the wet season. Your time here is spent exploring on foot with an experienced tracker and guide or on morning and afternoon game drives during which you have an excellent chance of spotting the elusive leopard, cheetah, lion, wild dog, elephant and giraffe. A bird watchers paradise, this area is alive with species of all kinds and is best discovered by exploring the delta channels by morkoro. Not only can you get up close to the bird life but it offers game viewing from a different perspective.
Each tent is elegantly furnished in classic safari style. All raised on wooden decks the tents boast great views out over the flood plains beyond. The two family units comprise two spacious bedrooms with an adjoining living room in between. Behind the living area is a shared bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower with hot and cold running water, flush loos and twin basins.
Children of all ages are welcome at Gomoti Plains.
Activities from Gomoti Plains include morning and afternoon game drives, guided walking safaris and mokoro rides through the delta channels.

I love the location of Gomoti Camp with a gently sloping beach leading down in to the flood plain where you have dinner and a campfire and watch the hippos playing around once the sun drops. The camp has a very intimate feel with lovely staff making you feel at home right away. The rooms have a luxurious bush camp feel with muted colours and the option to have just the mosquito net walls between you and the flood plains allowing you to hear the night chorus when you are going to sleep.

Gomoti is a fresh take on a traditional bush camp with its modern design and keen use of its surrounding habit. The camp is set in its own private concession, an island formed at the Gomoti river where you can enjoy year round boat trips, excellent game drives and Mokoro trips on the seasonal flood plain that forms in front of camp. Enjoy nights filled with camaraderie around the fire and a peaceful slumber as the sounds of frogs and hippos lull you to sleep.
Boat safari in the Okavango Delta
Travel through the waterways of the Okavango Delta on a boat safari, exploring the papyrus reeds and hippo habitats with your guide. The smooth ride offers a soothing alternative to time spent in a vehicle. Always subject to water levels.
Game drives in the Okavango
One of the best ways to see the big game of Botswana's Okavango Delta is on a game drive with a knowledgeable guide. Explore in open-sided vehicles to maximise your viewing opportunities, this is a truly wildlife rich environment.
Mokoro trips in Botswana
Botswana's northern safari areas are full of water channels just waiting to be explored. Larger boats can be used to explore the wider channels but for the aficionado, mokoro trips into the smaller channels are a real treat. Always subject to waterlevels
