Mykonos is a summer destination, and hotels only operate between late April to late October. On average, the warmest months of the year are July and August, when the beaches and towns are more crowded with other visitors. June and September are good months to visit, when the island is quieter but temperatures are still high. Santa Marina Resort & Villas is open from May to October.

There is a multitude of things to do on the island of Mykonos. As with most Greek islands, it has its fair share of ancient and historical sites, and you can take private guided tours. The nearby island of Delos, the ancient and sacred site of Apollo is an open museum which is definitely worth the boat trip. In Mykonos itself, there's an open air cinema, where you can watch a film whilst eating souvlaki under the stars. The resort can easily organise boat rides to some of the more secluded beaches and coves around the island, making it a fun way to explore.
Mykonos town is a lovely and picturesque place to spend a morning. White buildings with multicoloured doors and shutters; narrow and winding cobblestoned streets with glimpses down to the sea. You'll stumble across hidden churches, little squares and tavernas, and amongst the usual tourist shops you can find some real gems, selling unique jewellery and leatherwork.

Santa Marina was for me the most luxurious hotel on Mykonos. Its got everything you would look for in a top luxury resort and is the most suitable option for families looking for a luxurious beach break. It has the only private beaches on the island due to its enviable location on a small peninsula close to the bay of Ornos which has a great selection of local restaurants and beach clubs for those looking to escape the hotel on foot. They will also shuttle you into Mykonos Town in 15 minutes if you want to explore further. I loved the new adults only pool which really helped the feel of the hotel as it separates the grown ups wanting to chill and the families wanting to play and have fun. They have a Buddha Bar restaurant on the beach which offers the best sushi on the island and pulls in plenty of outside guests. Super hip but also very busy and not conducive to relaxed long lunches that you will find at some of the other spots on the island. Some rooms have their own private pools which is a great touch and I was seriously impressed by the quality of their new villas, just ensure youre at down before checking the price

The painstaking renovation that has been carried out over the last 2 years has most definitely been worth it - the hotel looks absolutely amazing! The facilities are fantastic - big pool, tennis court, amazing spa and private beach as well as several restaurants and bars - you really won't want for anything. It is a lively resort with lots going on by way f entertainment but there are areas where you can get some peace and quiet.
It's a very short walk to Ornos Beach, one of the most talked about on Mykonos, which is one of the less party-beach beaches you can find and excellent for families. You'll also find lots of great restaurants.
