Tour of Berlin's Museum Island
Explore the rich history of mankind with a visit to Berlin's Museum Island. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to five intriguing museums, each displaying an array of artefacts from throughout the history of the World.
The tour begins with an insightful visit to Lustgarten, the former royal pleasure ground, found between the Berlin City Palace, the Cathedral and the five museums of Museum Island. From here a guided tour of both Pergamon Museum (displaying antique architecture from Babylon, Greece and Rome) and Neues Museum (displaying an array of Egyptian treasures and the bust of Queen Nefertiti) have been included.
The five museums of Museum Island were all constructed between 1830 and 1930, and between them they showcase artefacts from across the globe, including treasures form Babylon, Rome, Egypt, Greece, the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods, right up until the 19th Century, providing an in-depth insight into a number of varied and fascinating cultures.
