Places to Visit in Ethiopia
Ethiopia is steeped in history, shrouded in mystery and home to a myriad of wondrous discoveries. Visit Fasil Ghebbi, also known as the Castles of Gondar, an impressive 17th century collection of castles that were once home to the country’s capital. Awe at the astounding architecture of Lalibela’s medieval rock-hewn churches, constructed in the 12th century to be the ‘New Jerusalem’, still preserved in their natural setting.
It’s not just Ethiopia’s history that has caught our attention. Trek through the Simien Mountains and untouched Bale Mountain National Park, a paradise for nature enthusiasts and photographers, where you’ll often stumble upon endemic wildlife such as Ethiopian wolf, gelada monkey and Walia ibex.
