Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Indonesia at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.

Tucked away on the charming Waecicu Beach, Plataran Komodo Beach Resort is a short distance from Labuan Bajo. From here, embark on a journey to the island of Komodo, experiencing some of the world's most fascinating marine life.
Overlooking the Flores Sea, Plataran Komodo Beach Resort has a perfect location for beach lovers and diving enthusiasts alike. Situated on the west coast of the small island of Flores, guests have a great base to explore these aquamarine waters and embark on trips to Komodo National Park in search of the Komodo dragon.
The resort itself is made up of just twelve villas, all adorned with beautifully carved wood and decorated in a simple, rustic style. The villas look onto the lush tropical garden, just steps away from the beach, providing a truly barefoot experience. Here relax and take in the views of the ocean and surrounding hillside.
It's not just diving to keep you entertained here. Other water based activities include paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling and a visit to Goa Rangko saltwater pool. Swim in this fresh salt-water pool found inside a hidden cave.

The Deluxe Beach Front Villa is a one bedroom villa with king-size bed and out-side veranda. With views overlooking the ocean and surrounded hills, you are just steps away from Waecicu Beach.
|Executive Beach Front Villa||
This one bedroom villa features a king-size bed and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Overlooking the Bidadari Island and Flores Sea unwind on the large veranda and enjoy the spacious outdoor bathroom with separate shower and bathtub.
|Exclusive Beach Front Villa||
This one bedroom villa with king-size bed sits just steps away from the beach. With views over Bidadari island and Flores Sea, the villa features a large veranda and spacious outdoor bathroom with separate shower and bathtub.
|Limasan Beach Front Villa||
This ornately decorated villa has two bedrooms with king-size or twin beds, a large garden and veranda. The villa looks out onto the ocean and surrounding hills and is steps away from the beach and meters from the azure waters of Waecicu bay.
|Grand Pool Villa||
This one bedroom villa with king Size bed, equipped with private swimming pool is just steps away from the beach. With a luxurious bath and separate shower, it also has a large veranda overlooking the ocean and Bidadari island.
|Duplex Pool Villa||
The biggest of all the villas, the Duplex Pool Villa has two bedrooms featuring large sitting area. The first bedroom opens out onto a private terrace whilst the second bedroom sits on the ground floor and features a terrazzo bathtub, twin vanities and an indoor shower. With a private pool, this is a perfect hideway for two couples or families.
The resort's facilities include Plataran's signature Padma spa with two treatment rooms and six treatments ranging from relaxation massages to intense detox programs. For those wanting to keep fit, there is a gym which is for guests' exclusive use. The dining options include two restaurants, the Patio Xanadu and Atlantis on The Rock at Waecicu Beach. For younger guests there is a Kid's outdoor playground and the new Plataran Water World, a water activities centre.
Besides exploring the aquamarine waters off the resort's secluded beach, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Charter one of Plataran's many boats with Plataran Private Cruises to explore the neighbouring islands on a sea cruise. Atlantis Beachclub is a great spot for a day trip for a beachside lunch only five minutes from Labuan Bajo. Other day trips include a visit to Cunca Rami Waterfall, one of the many caves and saltwater pools nearby. For a cultural experience, Melo Village offers a fascinating insight into the Manggaraian culture where you can enjoy a Caci dance performance. Back at the resort, unwind with yoga, meditation.

After arriving at the airport you will be driven a short way to the harbour dotted with traditional Indonesian sail boats, a spectacular welcome to the island of Flores. Take a quick cruise around to corner and you will arrive at the Plataran Komodo set in a tranquil bay overlooking some of the stunning islands just off the coast. Unwind in the spacious villas and enjoy the unique experience of the semi-outdoor bathrooms. Wake up early grab a complimentary snorkel and paddle board and explore the house reef just meters from the beach. In the evening be welcomed to the restaurant decorated with fairly lights and tikki torches and pick your favourite seafood for the BBQ from the catch of the day.

Plataran Komodo has a great location just outside of Lubuan Bajo. The traditional villas are spacious and are all a stones throw away from the beach so have good views. On the Rocks is a great spot for sunset and the serve a number of good cocktails.
