Although I have been lucky enough to visit many places around the world, it is never enough. Every time I go on a trip I come back with a few more destinations on my list. I’m not the type of person who just relaxes by the pool all day - so I tend to plan my trips around activities. My favourite of which are surfing, sailing and hiking.
I first went to Latin America on my gap year and fell in love with the continent. It just seemed so diverse and full of life. Many trips later at that love has not faded. I have constantly been trying to find new and unspoilt areas and regions. Spending 4 months in Nicaragua was a real highlight dream – amazing people, incredible surfing and stunning landscapes. Being able to travel for several months at a time is now just a dream.
More recently I have been traveling for shorter periods of time, but far more frequently. And with the travel industry being led more by experiences that destinations, the opportunities to lean and see new things is ever growing!
What my guests have said
"I wanted to say thank you for your advice and for recommending Ciasa Saleres in the Dolomites. My husband and I had the holiday of a lifetime and we were just blown away by the skiing, the food and the incredible hospitality from our hotel to each and every restaurant/chalet we stopped in for a drink or a bite to eat. It truly was one of the best holidays we have ever had and we wanted to thank you personally for your recommendation as you could not have picked a more perfect place for us! We plan to visit Alta Badia and ski every year here from now on! Thank you James."
"Our travel consultant, James, was great - consistent communication and great advice."
Thank you for an absolutely stunning and well organised Holiday. The children and I had a great time and enjoyed all the nice places and activities you booked for us. Peru was a dream com true and the way you organised our visit made it a wonderful, relaxed and a very enjoyable experience. I will definitely come to you for advise and help for our next big travel adventure. We just need to decide where this is going to be!
Favourite places I've been
A good pair of binoculars is a worthy investment for wildlife trips. The guides usually will have a pair, but taking your own means you can really make the most of everything.
If going on an active trip try and build up your fitness before you depart so that you can maximise your experience.
If taking trains, small boards or planes a duffle bag can be very useful. Take what you need and leave the rest of your luggage to be transferred to your onwards hotel.
Always check-in online. Airlines still overbook and those who haven’t checked in are always the first to get bumped off.
Do a cooking course – after a few days of spoiling yourself and eating amazing food, Learning how to cook it yourself is the perfect excuse to eat a bit more without feeling guilty.
