The day starts in the mountainous region at the heart of the island, where from the highest point in Curepipe, you can see the dormant volcano 'Trou aux Cerfs', now rich in colourful flora and fauna.

The tour then takes you to the contrasting area of Grand Bassin, home to the crater lake Ganga Talao, place of worship to the Hindu community. Next it's time to discover the Black River Gorges in the central highlands, the largest protected endemic forest in Mauritius and famous for it's waterfalls, vistas and hiking, before visiting the "Rhumerie de Chamarel" to learn the secret of rum production, taste some locally produced rums and enjoy a gourmet lunch at the distillery's L'Alchimiste restaurant. The day is rounded off with a trip to the famous Seven Coloured Earths, a unique geological phenomenon with breathtaking rainbow coloured sands.
