Aksu
Nestled between Kashgar and Urumqi prefecture, Aksu is a flourishing city and home to a thriving industry of cotton and fruits. An oasis city in the desert land of Xinjiang, there is abundant natural reserve and water sources that slowly strengthened its position as a vital stop along the Silkroad.

While the town itself has few iconic landmarks, it acts as a convenient stop between highlights of Xinjiang region such as the Kizil Thousand Buddha cave in Kuqa, and Kashgar – the pearl of the ancient Silkroad.
