Songtsam Meili is one of five Songtsam lodges which can be combined with each other to create a circuit trip in the area. The Three Parallel Rivers Area of Yunnan encircles the magnificent land bordered by the mighty Yangtze, Mekong and Salween. The snow capped peaks, glaciated gorges and terraced fields are known by the locals and those who discover it as a 'Shangri-la'. By incorporating stays at different Songtsam Lodges you can really get into the heart of the area and each lodges provides a unique experience to help you capture the magic of the land.
The Meili snow range is a sub range of the Hengduan Mountains, marking the boundary between Tibet and Yunnan province. The glaciated peaks are gloriously illuminated at sunrise and sunset and from the third floor of the hotel, when it is clear, you can witness this magical setting.
Songstam Meili has a wonderful overlook of the Meili Mountain Range, arguably the best views of all the Songtsam Lodges. It is a 6-hour drive from Shangri-la airport and combines nicely with stays at Benzilan and Shangri-la Lodges. As you enter the hotel into the lobby you get an immediate welcoming feel with the beautiful and intimate décor, wooden floors and rich Tibetan style. The harmonious feel continues throughout the lodge.
