Winter is overcast and chilly, although snow seldom falls in this eastern region of China. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to visit Shanghai and eastern China, with pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists.

Pig Inn is a small boutique hotel with plenty of charm, in the tranquil village of Bishan.
This family run guesthouse features typical Huizhou architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, in a quiet typical village from Anhui. Built around traditional courtyards, it features 9 guestrooms and is a great option to explore the surroundings villages of Hongcun and Xidi.
The room offers a flat-screen TV with a private bathroom. The facilities are limited but there is a library for guests to enjoy reading and interacting with one another, and a viewing platform to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
