The Central-eastern regions of Henan, Shanxi and Shandong experience four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid, with the majority of the year’s rain falling between June and August. July is the hottest month of the year, with temperatures peaking at around 40°C. Winters are cold, dropping as low as -20°C in January. Spring is short and warm, but sandstorms from Mongolia often sweep through the region at this time of year. The best months to visit the Central-eastern regions are September through to November, whilst the days are long and sunny and temperatures average 17°C.

Strong in character and traditional Chinese interiors, Datong Yunzhong Traditional Courtyard is entrenched with design elements evoking the history of ancient Datong.

Entering the property, you will be greeted by the "Blessing" Screening Wall which represents fortune, a traditional characteristic of Datong. The main courtyard is separated by an ancient Chinese gate and lovingly decorated with plants, fish tanks and antiques from the hotel owner's personal collection. The reception hall is an art in itself, with antique wood carvings and loving paintings covering the ceiling.

Each of the 35 rooms are fitted with flat-screen TV, satellite channels, kettle, as well as private bathroom with bathrobes and slippers.
