It is very difficult to predict the weather in Ireland - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Take a walk through the streets of Georgian Dublin, pay a visit to Trinity College and its dazzling illuminated ninth-century manuscript The Book of Kells or listen to traditional fiddle music in one of the many bars.
You'll step on board the Belmond Grand Hibernian in the early afternoon and be whisked away to County Cork. As you make the journey south you will enjoy a delicious afternoon tea and have the chance to settle into your cabin and to meet your fellow travellers. On arrival in Cork, a private tour of the Jameson Experience will teach you about the history of whiskey production over the centuries, and a tasting session will show you why Jameson is renowned worldwide.
Over the next 6 nights aboard the train you’ll visit a fantastic selection of Ireland’s highlights as your journey firstly Southwards towards Killarney, before turning northward to Galway and the stunning Cliffs of Moher. The train will make plenty of stops along the way to ensure that you are not missing out on truly experiencing these special locations. You’ll also have plenty of memorable experiences along the way such as kissing the Blarney Stone, taking a pony and trap tour around the lakes of Killarney and enjoy an oyster and champagne lunch in lively Galway.
