Best Time to Visit Central Asia
Summer months in Armenia and Georgia are between June and August and are excellent for hiking along the Caucasus mountains, whilst the cooler months of September and October are great for those looking to escape the heat. Those visiting in April and May can enjoy a lush green landscape, although are likely to experience some rainfall. Snowfall is common in the colder months between December and March, bringing a different beauty to the Caucasus Mountains.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are particularly good to visit between spring to late autumn (April-October). The winters can be very cold with harsh weather so best to be avoided. A mountainous country ideal for trekking, Tajikistan is best visited between July-September when the snows begin to clear leaving high mountain roads and hiking paths more accessible. Turkmenistan has a continental desert climate. Spring (March-April) and Autumn (October-November) are the most ideal times to visit.
