Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.

Explore the architectural wonder of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap while based at the stunning Amansara, then go on to the beach relax in utter luxury on the stunning beaches of the Koh Rong Archipelago, staying at the exclusive Song Saa private island resort.

  1. Days 1-5: Siem Reap & Angkor Wat

Be whisked away to the east, with an exclusive adventure to Cambodia, one of Indochina’s most beautiful destinations. You will land at Siem Reap, the small town just 15 minutes from the majestic and mysterious temples of Angkor. The Angkor complex, the famous ‘lost city’ of the Khmers, is arguably the most astounding archaeological site in Asia and undoubtedly one of the world’s great travel highlights. Whilst exploring these ancient marvels, you will stay at Amansara, undeniably the most exclusive hotel in Siem Reap. Formerly the guesthouse of King Sihanouk, this classic structure has been converted into a calm oasis on the outskirts of bustling Siem Reap, affording you a cool and contemporary stay, while allowing you to embrace the outstanding ancient ruins and temples within its jungle and rice paddy terrain.  Siem Reap was only a sleepy backwater until a few years ago, and still retains pleasing remnants of the past, like French shop-houses, tree-lined boulevards and a gentle winding river. Explore the many markets, galleries and wonderful restaurants that line the dusty streets following a day of adventure amongst the stunning temples. We have included for you a private tour of the more remote temples in the complex, allowing your first experience of the ruins to be a solitary experience, surrounded by the calmness of the ruins. Of course, an experience not to be missed is seeing the sun rise above the iconic Angkor Wat, and our knowledgeable guide will ensure you have a prime position away from the crowds to enjoy an uninterrupted view of this magnificent moment. We also recommend a luxurious half day tour onto Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest lake. Here you will be able to enjoy a delicious meal on the silent lake, watching out for local birds and wildlife. You will also be able to visit a traditional floating village and learn about life on the water.

    Accommodation: Amansara (4 nights)

  2. Days 5-11: Koh Rong Archipelago

From Siem Reap, fly to Sihanoukville on the Cambodian coast before taking a speedboat to the remote and spectacular Koh Rong Archipelago for a stay at Song Saa. In the Khmer language, 'Song Saa' means 'the sweethearts', reflecting the way the property spans the two tropical islands of Koh Ouen and Koh Rong, with just a footbridge connecting the two. Song Saa is the first ever luxury island development in Cambodia, setting a new standard in environmentally sensitive, luxurious accommodation.

The property features luxury pool villas, situated in the lush rainforest, on the golden beaches and perched over the turquoise waters of Cambodia's coastline, each with the most modern of facilities, designed to work in harmony with the environment. Song Saa is also home to the fantastic Vista Restaurant and Lounge, affording 360-degree views of the ocean whilst dining on delicious food prepared by the talented chefs. This is a spectacular view point for sunrise and sunset and starry nights are best observed at the over-water bar or at the bar on the beach.

For underwater enthusiasts, Song Saa is paradise, as it sits amidst a pristine marine reserve, home to an abundance of fascinating marine life, including dugongs, seahorses and exotic species of tropical fish. Explore this amazing underwater world, or take to the ocean in a multitude of other ways including sailing and kayaking.

    Accommodation: Song Saa (6 nights)
