Belmond Hotel das Cataratas has a spellbinding location just a short stroll from the spectacular Iguazu Falls and is the only hotel located within Brazil’s National Park. This colonial-style Belmond residence is the most exclusive place to stay.
Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is a grand colonial-style hotel, a 2-minute stroll away from the awe-inspiring Iguassu Falls and the only hotel in the Brazilian National Park. Choose from one of 193 colourful rooms and 15 suites that combine original, local artwork with all the usual modern touches one would expect in a luxury hotel. There are two restaurants, the Ipe Bar & Grill alongside the pool and the Restaurant Itapu both serving delicious local and international cuisine.
Guests at the hotel enjoy exclusive access to the 275 falls (depending on the time of year) that are over 3km wide and 80m high and lie at the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Although the falls are mostly in Argentina, the views from the Brazilian side are all encompassing and spectacular. Stroll along the catwalks and marvel at the power and splendour of these vast waterfalls twice the size of Niagara, go on a nature expedition with one of the hotel's in-house biologists or see it all from the sky on one of their helicopter tours.
At the end of a day's exploring the most impressive waterfall system in the world, cool off in the hotel's swimming pool, play a game of tennis or sip at a caipirinha at the bar.
84 Superior rooms measuring 20m2, 94 Deluxe rooms measuring 30m2, nine Junior suites measuring 35-44m2 with private balconies and six Cataratas suites of 94m2 with four balconies, a living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

You can eat inside the beautifully decorated restaurant or choose to dine on the terrace overlooking the verdant grounds.

The food at the hotel is quite pricey but enjoy a poolside Brazilian barbecue at the Ip Grill and you will enjoy an unlimited buffet selection of deliciously tender meat, a large array of salads, savoury treats and side dishes and then scrumptious deserts.

It is virtually Hobson's choice, if you want to stay right by the Falls. True, there is the Sheraton on the Argentinean side, but given the option, why wouldn't you stay at the newly renovated and classier Belmond Hotel das Cataratas? One of the best things about the hotel is the fact that you are right by the walkways, allowing you to experience the Falls outside normal visiting hours before and after the hordes have been. The pool as well is a fantastic place to while away the siesta hours. Food is good although pricey, but considering you are likely to visit the Falls just once in your life, it is a relatively small downside.
Helicopter Flight Over Iguazu Falls
A 10 minute helicopter flight is a spectacular way to admire the amazing natural force of the Iguassu Falls and surroundings. It is weather dependant (a minimum of 3 guests) so we advise to book this locally through the Belmond Das Cataratas on arrival.
