Florida is a year-round destination with balmy winters, but summers can be hot and humid. The best time to visit Florida is between March and May and in December when it is warm and sunny, before the weather begins to get too hot. Hurricanes and other less serious tropical storms can strike Florida any time in the summer up to the end of November, however the risk is greatest between August and October.

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is Miami's most exclusive hideaway. Once a glamorous beach club frequented by Hollywood royalty, the building now stands as an exquisite luxury hotel with contemporary styling and elegant Mediterranean flair.
Enviably located in Miami's small and understated beach town of Surfside, the luxurious Surf Club stands poised on the sands of the Atlantic and enjoys gentle ocean breezes.
The hotel's history is what makes it so alluring. The Surf Club first opened its doors on New Years Eve in 1930 and enjoyed decades of playing host to Hollywood stars with lively cocktail evenings, black-tie boxing and posh galas before closing in 2013. Beautifully renovated and refurbished by the well-renowned Four Seasons, The Surf Club now stands as a beautiful boutique 77-room oasis in the heart of Miami.
Upon arrival at The Surf Club, you are almost immediately transported back to 1930s prohibition era, where glamorous celebrities would flock to indulge in over-the-top parties and dance the night away. As you walk through the historic front door, you will be wowed by its elegance and tasteful Mediterranean style; towering palm trees, hanging lanterns and beautifully carved arches welcome you to the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club.
Renovations have been executed perfectly and the hotel maintains its exclusive members club feel. When you're not sipping on a cocktail in the upscale Sirenuse Restaurant, or sun-soaking by one of three pools, guests can enjoy yoga on the lawn or relaxing at the Spa.
Timeless and reminiscent of its coastal location, accommodations are simply stunning. Wide floor to ceiling windows allow natural light to flood in and offer sweeping views of the blue-green waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Guest rooms and suites perfectly blend neutral tones to echo the sun, sea and sand surrounding The Surf Club and provide guests with a peaceful oasis in which to escape after a day in the sunshine. Four Seasons have captured the essence of the original Surf Club and turned it into a contemporary haven for those looking to enjoy life's luxuries.
There are 77 beautiful guest rooms and suites at The Surf Club. Five of these are the original cabanas used at The Surf Club which are perfect for couples looking for something extra special or older families who wish to have connecting patios, rather than connecting rooms. The oceanfront rooms and suites are also special, with floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the ocean, pools and lawns below.
The rooms are gorgeous and minimalist in style with luxurious amenities, coffee table books and modern custom furniture. Upon arrival, guests also receive a little sweet treat including homemade banana bread and fruit.
The kids club at the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is fantastic, with plenty of engaging activities for children. With a back-to-basics kids programme, children are encouraged to lay down their technology gadgets and play outdoors. There are special sandcastle building competitions, beach toys, poolside games and picnics on the beach.
Babysitting can also be arranged.
Facilities at the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club are top-notch. There is a luxurious adults-only Spa complete with a sauna, steam room, hammam and treatment rooms, as well as an adults only pool. There are two heated outdoor pools for family guest use, private access to a powder-white beach, a gym and a restaurant and bar area. There are also serenity lawns which lie just behind the pools and are perfect for afternoon sun-bathing or morning yoga.
Your time at The Surf Club can be spent relaxing or being as active as possible. With ample space for sun-soaking, guests will love enjoying the facilities of the hotel and playing on the beach. Those with an itch to move can head out and explore on the hotels complimentary bicycles or take the house car to Bal Harbour for a spot of shopping. Family excursions can also be organised and a day trip to the Everglades is the perfect way to enjoy the wilder side of Miami.

It was with some trepidation that we drove up to Miamis North Beach area, home to the newly reopened historic Surfside club, now reimagined by Four Seasons as a contemporary and stylish boutique hotel. We had heard a lot about it, not to mention the prices which seemed high for an area already full of luxury hotels, what was it about this new addition that warranted the additional fee? It didnt take us long to understand, this place is special, exclusive, a hidden gem of a hotel which takes Miami luxury and refinement to a whole new level. With only 77 rooms and suites, this truly is a boutique hotel for Miami, yet with a large footprint it feels spacious and airy and oh so exclusive. From the entrance, which is so discreet we completely missed it when we arrived, through to the palm strewn entrance walkway, club like lounge and refined restaurant, it oozes a special quality, a calm and tranquillity which is oh so not Miami, but still so in keeping with its original surroundings which was the famous Surf Club Miami. So many have visited this historic centre and they are still in the heart of the hotel whilst a modern faade has built up around it. Now the rooms and suites offer contemporary, more minimalist surroundings, making the most of the light and views. Even the city view rooms here have wonderful views over the city of Surfside to the city of Miami and waterways belong, a plethora of twinkling lights at night away. To the front, the ocean views are breath-taking during the day and well worth the additional cost to enjoy. The beach up here is the only slight let down, quite narrow in places, it moves around to the extent that sometimes guests do have to walk a little along the boardwalk to be able to have some beach space. That said, this is a natural environment and its not enough of a reason not to come here. So who would stay here? Anyone who enjoys the Four Seasons experience, it certainly doesnt disappoint. Whether you are travelling solo, as a couple or as a family, you will be welcome here. Theres a family pool and the Kids for All Seasons club for the little ones, so parents can enjoy a little down time. Meanwhile South Beach Miami is no more than a 25 minute drive away should you wish to delve in, yet you can retreat back to this little piece of Miami heaven when the noise and people all get too much. So the price may be high to stay here, but the value is definitely there so if you have the budget to indulge, go right ahead and do it.
