Situated only 6° south of the equator, Zanzibar enjoys ideal holiday weather. Temperatures average between 24°C and 27°C throughout the year with 7-9 hours of sunshine per day.
There are 2 rainy seasons: Acute, brief showers, lasting about an hour in the morning occur for a couple of weeks during November. The rains last slightly longer in April and May, but even then it does not rain every day. These rains replenish the Island and are often referred to as the “Green Season”.

Kisiwa On The Beach is a welcome haven of barefoot luxury on the seductive east coast of Zanzibar. Paje has beautiful beaches and is the ideal spot for diving and snorkelling. People come here from all over the world to kite-surf.
Kisiwa On The Beach is nestled amongst the palm trees on an endless white sandy beach facing the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean. The hotel has 22 idyllic villas that have been designed to have the best possible views of the sea, with huge great windows and large open plan bedrooms with private verandas. The villas are made of white stone with natural and tranquil colours to give them a gentle and laid back feel.
The open walled restaurant has a traditional Makuti roof and is the ideal setting for some romance and intimacy during outdoor evening dining. The bar faces the beach and is the perfect place to enjoy some sundowners whilst gazing out at the ocean.
Sheltered by a long barrier reef, the east coast of Zanzibar consists of gently sloping white sandy beaches, melting away into the warm Indian Ocean and coral cliffs. Inland, rare red colobus monkeys can be seen on the trail to the coral caves of the Kiwengwa-Pongwe Forest 20 km from Stone Town. Paje Beach is the perfect place to get away from the busier coasts on the other sides of the island. Nearby points of interest include Jambiani Beach, Jozani Forest Reserve, Kwale Island, Kizimkazi Beach, Kiwengwa Beach, Stonetown Bech, Chumbe island, House of Wonders and Mapenzi Beach.
The 22 rooms at Kisiwa on the Beach open to their own private verandas. They are all air-conditioned with mini bars, safes, LCD TVs and have free Wi-Fi.

The Kitesurfing on Paje is best from mid-June through to September. The kite surfing school is just next door and Kisiwa On The Beach can also arrange snorkelling, and diving. A dhow trip on the coast of Zanzibar
Sailing in a dhow, the traditional sailing boat used in Zanzibar, is the best way to view the island's coastline. Sailing in the late evening to watch the sun set is the best time of day and is wonderfully romantic.
