My love for the ocean has brought me to travel to beautiful places all over the world. As an avid surfer I always find it so incredible that I have found myself in some of the most remote places, connecting with the most interesting people and the power of the ocean has all brought us there together.

Growing up in a big family we didn’t travel much but from as early as I can remember I always was so intrigued with the rest of the world. Fortunately, I had members of my extended family who traveled a lot so at every family gathering I hung onto their every word and photo from their travels.

My first real international trip was to Morocco. The first time I heard the call to prayer was in the middle of a medina in Tangiers and I was blown away. From that moment on I was hooked on traveling and I couldn’t wait to explore more countries, experiences more cultures, try more food, and see new sights. Since then I have traveled extensively in Southeast Asia, Central America, North America, parts of Europe, and every nook and cranny of Mexico. I believe travel should be top priority in everyone’s lives. It gets you out of your comfort zone and shows you that the important things in life are not material things. It shows you that at the end of the day the things you treasure most are the memories you made, the food you’ve tasted, the beautiful sights you’ve seen, and the people you have connected with along the way. Working at Scott Dunn is a dream come true because every day I get to share my passion for travel with others and help them create memories that will last a lifetime.

Travel nuggets

  • Bring a Polaroid camera with you. I love taking pictures with people I meet on my trips and giving them the photo. It gives a personal connection and makes people feel really special; especially in places where cameras aren't that accessible.

  • Always bring socks and a change of comfy cloths on your long flights. Flights can get so cold and I love to bundle up and get cozy.

  • Packing cubes are your best friend. No seriously, they will help keep your luggage organized and you won’t have to rummage through your entire bag looking for one thing.

  • Never underestimate the necessity of a good hat! It's great for sun protection and it’s an easy accessory to spice up an outfit for a night out.

  • Always ask your waitress what their personal favorite dish is. It’s the best way to get a local perspective and maybe try something new.
