This year we’ve expanded our European portfolio to include more properties and itineraries in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland. Scandinavia and the Nordic region offers some of the earth’s most beautiful and unearthly landscapes and are steeped with a rich history and tradition, making it feel quite untouched, isolated and unique. We hope this video does it justice…
Spring in Norway – Lyngen Lodge
Indulge your inner explorer and head to the far North of Norway to stay at charming Lyngen Lodge to see spring awaken. Expect cascading waterfalls, amazing bird migrations, verdant landscapes and towards the end of May, the famed midnight sun and thus gloriously long days. You will be spoiled for choice with activities aplenty; be it whale watching, fishing, hiking, sea kayaking, horse-riding and sea safaris to the fjords. Even skiing is still possible at this time of year. Or while away a day back at the Lodge, enjoying the outdoor Jacuzzi and some delicious home-cooking made using locally sourced produce.
Summer in Iceland – a family adventure
Take an alternative family summer break and experience the stunning unspoiled landscapes, natural geological and volcanic wonders of Iceland. You will never be short of something to do; Iceland offers an array of activities from whale watching and horse riding to fishing and glacier hiking. Why not take a helicopter flight over smoking volcanic craters and beaches composed of black sand. The capital Reykjavik boasts attractive boutique hotels, gourmet restaurants, and trendy bars. This diverse country offers something for everybody and the short flight time from London makes Iceland an excellent destination for a short, adventurous break over a weekend.
Fall in Sweden – A west coast culinary journey
In recent years an exciting culinary movement has been sweeping across Scandinavia, with the west coast of Sweden being one of the best areas to sample simply outstanding seafood whilst exploring some of the country’s most picturesque seaside villages. Embark on a lobster safari and revel over your fresh catch at dinner, relax in the luxury of Pio Country Club, cook up a feast during a cooking class whilst expertly pairing it with wine after your tasting session or stroll around beautiful Gothenburg, along the river and down the cobbled streets lined with inviting boutiques and cafes.
Winter in Finland – Kakslauttanen
Journey into the Arctic Circle to experience a winter wonderland at Kakslauttanen in Finland. Here you can stay in a cosy log cabin with its own sauna and Jacuzzi, or even a glass igloo so you can sleep underneath the stars. If you are lucky you might catch sight of the Northern Lights while resting in warmth and comfort of your igloo. We can arrange husky dog-sledding, snowmobile safaris, or even a visit to a reindeer farm. Book early if you would like to bring the family around Christmastime; there’s a chance to meet Santa and his elves here too!
